“Being in a new city feels like I’m on vacation,” I told someone the other day.
Everything is new and exciting.
There’s endless possibilities of things to do, places to explore, and new spots to eat at.
Here’s what I’ve been up to in my first month in Austin!
And how could I not mention the FOOD? 😋
I’ve really enjoyed most of the food that I’ve had here so far, and prices are reasonable!

Need a fun activity to do after work?
Not gonna lie, I was getting kind of bored of my usual workout routine of weightlifting, so I decided to try out ClassPass to check out different workouts.
It’s actually been SO. MUCH. FUN.
I’ve been using ClassPass’s free trial and have gone to 5 classes so far. Doing it with a friend has been a plus, but you can totally do it on your own too!
These are the classes I’ve tried so far:
Hip Hop: Fortunately this was a true beginner class, and the instructor was great at repeating and slowing down steps. The sequence was to the song “Self Love” from the recent Spiderman movie so it was really fun. If you like dancing, hip hop is a great place to start!
Dance: We had signed up for a swing class but it turned out to be a two-step, swing, and tango class (not complaining about a 3-for-1!). The instructor/class itself was kind of strange, so I like how this experience of trying out different classes provides you with different instructors so you can see what teaching style you like. A good teacher is key for anything!
Aerial Silks: This was super fun! I would describe it as the most unique and adventurous experience out of the other classes. The instructor made it look easy but it was much more challenging than it looked. My heart was definitely racing at times.
Pure Barre: Y’all I was SORE after this class. It really hits your abs and legs - great for if you want to tone but not necessarily bulk. You start and end with stretching and do exercises on the floor and barre for the workout. I really liked it and would definitely go again!
Boxing: This one really surprised me. I went in with no expectations and it turned out to be a really good cardio workout and I burned the most calories for this one. Mentally I didn’t find it too hard either (you don’t have to remember 8+ steps like you do in a dance choreography).
Overall, I’ve been loving the ClassPass app - it’s super easy to use, and there’s even a map to show you which studios are closest to you.
It’s the perfect way to discover new workouts you might like!
Check out my referral link below for 58 free trial credits (normally 38 credits) for 14 days. Classes are ~5 credits each so that’s ~11 free classes!
